08 March 2007 : Foundation mothers touched the hearts of the executive board on the March 8 Morale Day
On the occasion of the World Women’s Day on March 8, 2007, the Fund Raising and Celebrations Branch of the Foundation Headquarters organized an Encouragement Day for the Special Mothers of the Special Children. Many of our Volunteer Friends who were invited for this occasion participated in the activities of this joyful day.
The entertainments of the Morale Day were presented by Mediha Ellialtıoğlu and started with an important and emotional ‘Welcome’ Speech made by Günseli Tatar the chairman of Fund Raisng and Celebrations Branch.
A precious and well known lute artist Yaşar Aksoy played the lute together with his student Special Training Specialist Meryem Şahin. The owner of one of the well known restaurants in Ankara, who would like to keep his name anonymous, attended the day together with the music group and entertained the participants.
In the Morale Day, at an unexpected moment, the Foundation Mothers, with the leadership of the Fund Raising Branch presented a “Gratitude Plaquette”, to us for years of service to the Foundation and the mentally handicapped children without any expectations.
Good hearted Deha Soer who gives voluntary drama lessons at our Foundation was the first to receive her recognition gift. After that General Director Tomris Miser, former General Chairman Assistant Nevrin Dirik, who had moved to İzmir, members of the Executive Board H.İnci Cengiz, Gülçin Karatekelioğlu, General Accountant Ayten Timuroğlu, General Secretary Müge Konor, General Director’s Assistant Ayşe Özkök Gürel, Director Ülay Karakoç, and Honorary Director Makbule Ölçen received their plaquettes individually from our students. Our hearts were touched by this act of appreciation from the Foundation Mothers. As the Plaquettes were received, the volunteer members were greatly touched with emotion.
