Sports Education and Activities at our Foundation
The President of the Republic accepting the Special Olympics swimming gold medalist Caner Ekin
Apart from the having its physical and psychological effects, we believe in sport activities having a direct impact on the social integration and rehabilitation of handicapped individuals. That it why sport activities had a significant presence in the our foundation’s programs since its establishment.
We consider sport activities in two complementary forms:
Sports activities for mentally handicapped children taking part in all of our education and rehabilitation programs: This program involves activities specially tailored for the needs and special developmental conditions of the mentally handicapped individual. These include various sports, rhythms, games, exercises, basic motor skill development sessions and patterns as well as other planned solo and group activities.
Team Coaching based on sport branches: These include continuous regulated sports activities based on the branch of the mentally handicapped athlete. The aim is to organize sports events, improve and maintain the physical and mental performance of the athletes with the aim of being able to take part in sport competitions. Our foundation has licensed athletes taking part in national and international competitions in many sport branches including swimming, athleticism, table tennis, basketball, soccer and bowling.
